There is a forum that discussed how to use prestone driveway heat and baking soda for dosing... I can't seem to find the forum anymore...
Does anyone know where it is off the top of their head?

If i remember correctly prestone driveway heat is anhydrous calcium chloride. Somebody please correct me if i am wrong.

That's correct, it is anhydrous CaCl, but the guys that make the prestone can no longer guarantee the purity of the product, thus it might not be the best option for reef aquaria...

That's right the dow products as others may now have high bromide the effects of which are largely unknown. It may be ok to use if water changes are done regularly. This sticky has more info:

Bulk Reef Supply sells a nice calcium chloride product used with good results by many.

How is peladow Anyone know purity of it? I have a 50 lb bag left over.
