calcium chrolide cant find it

The way that I originally determined that Dowflake was OK was through extensive testing with very expensive equipment. Cheap grade products almost never provide adequate analyses for that purpose. Consequently, I cannot tell you if any random brand is OK or not, unless it traces back to manufacturing by Dow. Since Dowflake changed the manufacturing process, and now has a concern about too much bromide if used in large amounts, it is very hard to say what brands are OK.

Many think a brand called Tetra that is food grade is OK, but it is not as easy to find.

You can still get stockpiled old batches of Dowflake from some resellers.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what type of resellers you are referring to. Are we still talking about pool supply?

By resellers I include both reef supply companies (buckeye field supply, twopartsolutions, etc, both of whom likely have old batches) as well as companies like Home Depot that might still be selling old batches.

I just started with limewater, my main problem is the alk and ph getting down butthe calcium always 460. Hope the kalk help me.

Limewater is perfect for raising pH, and can meet the demand for alkalinity in many tanks, but perhaps not those with very high demand or low evaporation rates.

Im just loosing about 1 gal every 2 days from evaporation, and just have 2 zoa and a lot of coraline on the rocks. What do you think Randy?
will be ok? Thanks buddy.
