Calcium rector dial in question

So I bought a Geo 618 calcium reactor with a Milwaukee pH controller and a reef fanatic regulator.

My questions is what should the pH controller be set at? I am having a bit of trouble dialing in the reactor. My pH has dropped below 8.0 since the reactor has been installed. It is now at 7.8. I am looking for a baseline in away and then work my way from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ph inside the reaction chamber should be at 6.5 [roughly] depending on the media being used.

effluent should be slow so your not raising DT PH levels

just do a google search and read up on fine tuning, it will help leaps and bounds

From personally having this reactor i would start @ 7.00 - 6.8 in the reactor and adjust from there. Media will dissolve anywhere under 7.00 so why risk over doing the PH at first. You can always start to lower it a little at a time after you check your rate of consumption. JMO

Very good point Bill. I am just a bit anxious to have this baby dialed in. I just have to be more patient. Thanks.

By the way, I currently have my controller set at 6.9 and so far my values are staring to stabilize.
