calcium test kit titration

I have recently switched to the tunze CA test kit. As the direction read i add the titration fluid drop wise until the liquid turns completly blue.(red-purple-blue) Well, today I went by LFS to get a second opinion to make sure I was getting a similar reading. they came up with a lot lower reading than i have been coming up with. After telling them how I was performing the test, they told me not to drip until blue. He said the test was complete as soon as it changes from red (which is purple). are they correct? I wouldn't usualy second guess directions, but these guys know reefs and Tunze products very well. thanks

I might disagree here. Once purple- one more drop would make it blue so that is where you would stop. Granted this is really nit picking as the test resolution is in 20ppm increments so at most you are talking about a 20ppm variance and in general human error and lab technique will create far more variance. BTW- I know those guys I am one of them. Hi Jason.

hey roger, I was hoping you would be floating around here. it end up being about two drops diff. thank you very much for the responce.

btw: just picked up a tunze auto top off and a green mille from you........ great as always.:D

I saw the little green millepora- ORA frag right? It was very nice, I was considering that one myself.
