Calcium

That would be determined by what your calcium level is, what you want your calcium level to be and how much calcium your consuming.

Before adding anything I would check and see what the calcium, alkalinity and the magnesium levels are. There is a relationship between the three of these that helps to keep them in line.

Test all three levels. Dose daily to get yourself to around 450 Ca, 9 Alk, 1320 Mg. if your Mg is below 1200 you probably won't be able to get Ca and Alk where you need it so address Mg first if that's the case. Mg allows the other two elements to "super saturate."

Once you have the three parameters where you need them, test every other day for a week (or more, if it takes that long to show a change). At the end of that period, you should be able to establish a trend that tells you how much your tank needs dosing. You still need to test regularly though; as your snails, SPS, LPS, coralline algae, etc wax and wane, your tank's demands on these elements will change.

Best advise; don't dose things you don't test for.
