calcium

Howdy Reefers!!

I have used most of the calcium sources listed above and have been using Mrs. Wages in my topoff water for about 2 years with no problems. I think many of you overestimate the quality control practiced by many of the companies that supply our hobby. I do not mean to speak poorly of them, but as there is virtually no regulatory oversight of the industry except results attained by hobbyists (and let's be honest, there is a wide range of talent and knowledge, or lack thereof, in our hobby) they are trying to produce the best product for the least $.

Use what you feel comfortable with. I assure you, the more you read and understand, the more comfortable you become with less expensive alternatives, or at least that has been my experience and observation.

Just my 2 cents

I think the majority of the oversight has been from the industry itself. If a company had quality issues, I believe it would spread like wildfire and the company's reputation would be called into play. In this business, it could easily create significant monetary damage. Thats why I stick with trusted names and am hesitant to jump on newcomers that are relatively untested. Referencing Mrs. wages, I run it my kalk reactor and have not found any issues.
