Calfo Style Overflow boxes

Question...

I have been planning on setting up a new aquarium with a C2C and BeanAnimal overflow. However, I was browsing through CL and saw a guy selling an aquarium with a C2C and BeanAnimal already installed. BUT, the guy used clear glass, whereas I planned on using black glass for aesthetics. So, I want you all's opinion, is it a good idea to buy the aquarium on CL and then use Krylon Fusion to paint the C2C black? I've never used Krylon Fusion before, but from what I have read it is reef safe and hardy. Is it hardy enough to be used on an internal C2C?

Thanks!

No it won't work out. Krylon fusion will not stick to the glass, especially in the presence of H20, you will have krylon fusion all over the tank. Paint that will actually stick to glass is very expensive ($300 + per gallon.) You could probably use a chunk of black acrylic siliconed to the tank side of the overflow, how long it would stay there, I don't know.
