Hey all -- anyone been to either store recently and know what their stock of cheap $10-$20 sps frags looks like?

I haven't been to neptunes since they moved to San Jose but they always used to have a great selection of "starter" frags.

Recently had a bunch of die off of some of my smallish sps frags and now that I think I have everything stablized again looking to re-stock.

Thinking of making a drive down to San Jose and hitting Cali Reef Co along the way since the stores up in my area have a fairly depleted selection of SPS frags at reasonable prices. Just don't want to drive an hour down there for nothing!

Thanks!

Neptune's always has a lot in the $10-$20 range, and adds more all the time. Cant say the same about cali reef as I haven't been there that often. I live like 2 hours drive away, and would make the trip to Neptune's.

Nice - yea Neptunes was on my way home from work when they were in milpitas and then they moved to San Jose and I subsequently changed jobs and don't commute down there anymore so I haven't been in a few years.

Always loved their selection of starter frags -- will plan to make a trip down there =)

I stopped by both on the way back from CFM and they both have a nice selection of inexpensive frags. Cal Reef also had some higher end stuff.

I love going to Roberts (Neptune's) just aquariums with frags (No NAMES) pick the frag in price range you want. No dealing with named corals with exorbitant pricing that goes along with designer names.

You go from $10-20 up to 199-299 I think?

They have frags from $10-$499

They both still stock decent no name $10-20 frags. Just gotta be patient with them.

CRC pieces that I'm growing out:

Yup - that is what I liked about both stores and wanted to make sure nothing changed.

I am still trying to "Figure out" SPS so no desire to go buy fancy designer frags then kill them =)

Have some random $10 millipora that I bought from CRC a while ago as a little brown frag. Now its all colored up pink with green polyps.

Something happened with my tank and I had a STN outbreak across all my birdsnest, digitas and stylophora. Lost about 7 frags over the course of the past 1-2 months, unfortunately. So looking to buy about 5-10 cheapo frags to try to get things going again.
