Cali tort not growing..help plz

My experience based off a miyagi tort and a cali tort is that they are not shy whatsoever of intense lighting, and more importantly thrive under intense DIRECT flow. I have multiple frags/colonies of each in different areas, those with the highest flow (within 8 inch's directly in front of MP40) have shown substantially higher growth, more so than any other acropora I have seen, some of which have been hindered by such high flow.

BUzz! youre in the vast minority. do a poll and see when most change their T5 bulbs.
Obviously 6 mth old bulbs look less intense compared to brand new bulbs but you need to go by the par value reduction which isnt drastically significant when compared to new bulbs. In all the years of doing this Ive never heard of 6 mths. But you keep throwing good money out the door.

The time frame bulbs last I would think is very dependent on the daily use. Supplemental actinic bulbs used for a few hours a day would last much longer than those used for daylight... 6+ hours.

Mine grew very fast under about 550 par and high flow. However, recently it was over shadowed by a fast growing Red Planet. So yesterday, I moved it to a better place. We will see.

Evidently you need to read more carefully and you are focused on only one thing i said. It was merely a suggestions.

I think you need to learn to read everything someone says before hashing down on them, cause evidently you didnt.

If you look back I also suggested water quality...but you missed that.

so, tracked the alk yesterday. 10 across the board. took 4 reading durring the 24 hr period.

I'm thinking I will move it.

Maybe there is some sort of bacteria or strand of food it needs that it is not getting in my tank? I feed 1/2 tsp microvore every other day at night. target feed w/ a baster.

What is your bio-load?

basic skimmer 200gal, filter bag, phos remover in reactor and live rock. I have 2 damsels, 3 lyretails, 1 regal, 2 clowns. I feed formula 1 flakes once a day and dose 1/2 tsp of macrovore about every 2-3 days at night. skimmers always pulling stuff out and no3 is .75-2ppm(red sea).
