Calibrate you ph probes regularly!

My tanks have been going down for the last 3 months very slowly....many colonies around 4 years old and grown out from a few inches to the size of you head slowly receeding. I could never put a finger on it....

Got bigger skimmers
Changed salt in one tank to see a difference
Tested my parameters (with my old kits)
No change!:hmm6:

Out of town for 3 days and had a large colony rtn...full pe just flapping in the wind...

After calibrating and changing out my 90 which is on the rebound, I did the probe on the 175 since I had the fluids out....effluent was actually 5.35 even though the reactor is fixed to run at 6.6-6.8. That means that dips to 6.5 probably got in the 4s!

The Reborn media obviously doesn't melt. LARGE water change and the correct ph and 3 hours later, everything is looking happier.

Sorry tanks!
