Calibrating Jaeger Heater

I recently changed out a couple old heaters I had running with a new Jaeger, and am not getting the performance out of this one.

The heater setting knob on the top, does not correspond to that of the sump temp.

Does anyone know how to calibrate the unit so it matches with the actual temp I am targeting?

Thanks.

I've never really used the numbers on the heaters. I guess what I do when I initially set a new one up is, set the temp on the heater to, say, 79. Then watch my thermometers, and adjust the heater accordingly up or down to match the thermometers.

if it is the ehiem jager heater there is a button looking thing on the top of the heater beside the power cord you just pull it up then turn the knob to the correct temp and push the button all the way back down

Get yourself a peal and stick for side of sump. I broke a glass one once in my sump.

I have two Jagers. I find the temp dial setting to be pretty close to my sump thermometer.

Additionally, I use an AC Jr. to control min/max temp settings.

good luck

Thanks.

I know of the lock button on the top. The issue at the moment is we are in a cold spell at the moment (bay area, ca) and the ambient temp of the room keeps fluctuating and the sump temp isn't keeping the DT constant (or at least within a few degrees).

Funny you mention the AC JR, I was just looking at that the other day. :mixed:
