Calibrating thermometer - 5 different readings???

Happy New Year all! Let's keep this club/forum rolling!

I figured it was time to calibrate my Apex temp probe. To do that I figured it would make sense to get a number of different thermometers and average them out for the closest "true" temperature. I have 2 different kinds of glass thermometers and they both say 27C. I have 3 digital ones. 2 are the same brand and one is completely different. They all say in and around 25.3C. I also have an infra red gun type thermometer and both the glass of the tank and surface of the water says 25.5C. Which do you believe? They are all supposed to be "calibrated" and accurate but I cant believe an almost 2 degree difference is acceptable. I suppose the majority rules but I would love to hear some other opinions. Anyone?

Agree. Have a regular floating glass thermometer, and another floating hygrometer/thermometer. They are 1.5 degrees apart. The cheap digital agrees with the higher temp. Two out of three
