calibration misfire

I tried to calibrate my refractor meter and gotna reading 0f 1.03.
Bad solution or bad meter?

How old is the solution? Enough evaporation coulds cause the fluid to become more saline.

Your refractometer probably has an adjustment screw. Provided the solution isn't bad, you'd put some on the refractometer and then turn the screw until it reads 1.025.

I'll check that out. Its a Milwaukee and I don't recall seeing a screw.
Regent is about 9 months old.You don't know how long that stuff has been on the dealers shelf though.

Checked and see a zero button. Hide in plane sight.
It reads fine.
Now to figure out .05 ppm of salt to add.
