Idol. U guys are good. Second would be the regal. And third tang.

So far regal eats frozen mysis and live brine. Idol eats flakes pellets whatever it seems. Tang eating pellets and rods food.

So far no ick. Running water at 1.015 and just small does of copper.
Glad to hear the Idol is eating; IMO & IME, once they eat, they're very hardy and eat anything.

I hope they're in a QT. BTW: SG at over about 1.008 and copper at a "small dose'' (Cupramine below .35ppm) won't prevent of kill any common protozoan parasites.

Ph is sitting right at 8.1 I check and double check everything. So far so good. I will post up some pics and video.

Did I miss something about Moorish Idols in the past year that I was out of the hobby? I've seen people mention several times in the past few weeks that they "eat anything" - I thought they were one of those fish that never ate anything? I'd always considered them harder than copperbands or regal angels, is this not true?

IME, Just getting idols to eat is the problem; many simply refuse and are lost this way. . Once eating, they will scarf anything and are very hardy. The big deal with CBBs is the origin, IMO & IME. Australian CBBs are pricey, but well worth it.

I simply with start lowering the salinty and removing copper slowly during the next week. I should be around 1.009 by the weekend.

To me, if you get an idol that wasn't damaged in collection and transit, it probably will eat and eat a real variety of foods aggressively. I don't think that is necessarily the case with copperbands. Maybe it just takes less to injure them, but many will starve themselves to death or just up and die after eating for a while and they tend not to be aggressive eaters or interested in a great variety of foods.

I agree that origin plays a large role. Cbbs from Australia seem to do very well. It may be that the sourcing of idols has improved dramatically (more from Hawaii and the near Pacific islands, less from the Infdonesia and Philippines areas??).

i did .5ppm cupramine for 3 weeks on the achilles and didnt run into any issues. i know quite a few others who had success with the achilles and cupramine as well. especially since your fish is already responding well and eating with copper in the system.

i wouldnt feel comfortable with hypo unless doing 6-7 weeks.

JMO..... G'luck on the fish.
