I have a small two inch bellus angel in quarantine tank. It is in tank for two days. For the first two days it was swimming and eating fine. Today it is not eating and hanging out at one spot. Seachem ammonia badge reads safe. No medication in tank. Temp is at 79. Only thing missing is a powerhead in tank. I have a HOB filter only.

It does t look like its hurting bit it bothers me that it is not swimming. Any ideas.

test the water. Do not rely upon the alert badge. test for nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia. Of course temp, PH, and salinity too.

Some also say to do low lighting or no lighting for new arrivals until they acclimate and are less timid.

if all else is good try a different food. What are you feeding? what have you tried?

I have tried mysis brine rods food spectrum pellets nori cyclopeeze chopped clams etc. I am going to do all the tests now. Will get back soon.

You are right seachem badge was a little off. Ammonia of .25 doing a 50% water change and adding prime. Thanks bud
