As the plans go forward for the new tank, I am in need of opinions of what I can salvage from my existing setup. I know I need to replace and add some equipment, so lets go one at a time
1. Skimmer- I know I need a good high end skimmer with the system setup I need. Where is the best place to get one? What should I be looking for in one? Any and all opinons needed. Total water volumn once its completely done is going to be around 600-650 gallons.
2. Calcium reactor- I have a Korallin C-1502 reactor. I really dont want to spend the money to upgrade as this is only 6 months old, but Im afraid it wont be able to handle the demand. Ideas?
3. Lights- I have a aquascape with 5 MH in it. The fixture is 6 ft long, same size as new tank. Problem is I think one possibly two of the lights will be over the eurobracing, which I cant have. Im thinking I might be able to adjust the lights inside the hood, or just take a bulb out from one end and run it with 4. These sockets are 250 DE and 150 DE. But for the back part of this tank I am going to need lights also so what would be a good compliment to what I already have, or do I sell what I have and put something else up (not preferable)
As I have never followed equipment, any info is more than welcome
Thanks all
Clark
