Calling All Steel Stand Owners!

Now that I got your attention, can you post some pics of your steel stands with the skirts on and off? My wife doesnt want me to do a steel stand as she wants it to look like wood furniture. I need some pics to prove to her that a steel stand can look like wood furniture. I have done a search but havent found any threads yet with pics of steel stands and the skirts...

Thanks!

Thats a nice stand...However I am looking for stands with skins to prove to my wife that it can look at furniture...and not just an ugly stand..

Are you calling my stand ugly?
Them's fightin' words.

:D

I didnt state your stand was ugly!!!! Just not finished:p Perhaps I could have worded that a bit better...I apologize if you took offense to that..I didnt mean your stand was ugly...My wife believes any furniture that is not wooden is ugly...she is more of the old fashioned group where she likes antique furniture...I on the otherhand prefer a more modern look....

Or you can go INWALL

Thanks, I have seen Gabe's tank before...it truly is amazing...I was hoping to compile a thread of pics of steel stands, as my search has not been very productive. Ive seen the occasional thread with some pics of steel stands with skins..however there was only like 4 that I have found so far...although Im just on page 20 of 20000000 pages :D

As far as going inwall...thats not an option....I dont have an open wall long enough for the new tank that Im looking at...Im looking at a 96x32x26

Don't worry, I was only kidding. No offense taken.
I was actually initially thinking of cutting panels out of either baltic birch plywood or black acrylic, and then just gluing magnets to hold them on, but after I finished the stand I decided I liked the unfinished look.
I'm working on an angle iron stand right now that I will probably do panels on, but I might weld tabs I can bolt the panels to instead of using magnets.

my stand is angle iron, 1.5 square tubing and flat bar. i covered it in beetle kill pine logs. i cant post pics ( dial up) but you can check it out at leftcoastlogdesigns.com

Here's our old tank (square tubing steel stand behind the skirt):

New one still under construction (wooden stand, but it's skinned similarly to what you could do to a steel stand):
