If I do 2 3/8" for a 1 1/2" BH will I be too far below the waterline. Waterline is 1 1/2" below the top of the tank, add another 1" to keep the hole safely away from the edge of the glass. The hole is 2 3/8", center of the pipe is probably 2 1/4" below the waterline. Is that the ticket??
 
Whew! I thought I may be losing my mind, it was refreshing to know it was someone else.:eek2:

Where the center line of the bulkhead is in relation to the water level, is not really significant. What is significant is where the return OUTLET is in relation to the water level. (and how water tight the internal plumbing is.)

Glass is ordered. Bulkheads are ordered. More importantly, what ever happened to INSANE??? He was a prolific poster for a couple of months.
