Camel shrimp

I made the common mistake of buying camel shrimp instead of pepermint shrimp. Now I am reading how bad they are for my coral and tank. Any ideas of how to remove them?? I've set up bottle traps with silversides inside but all I caught were pepermints the camels won't go close. Any ideas would be of great help!!???

Thanks:) tried that. The second I get within a foot of them they jump back into the rocks they are mighty quick. Is putting a fish which would eat them in the tank and then removing it an option?

DO NOT do this, because then your next thread will ask how to get an unwanted fish out.

Hold off from feeding the tank anything for a good 4-5 days. Then try a silver side in a bottle or trap. If you catch the peps, so be it. Put them in the sump for now or in a hang on specimen container. Keep the trap in until you get the :strooper: shrimp you are looking for. He'll get hungry. Sometimes the trap just spooks them for a day or two anyhow. You can put the trap in and not bait it for a bit of time first if needed.

Thanks , i never feed my shrimp ... its a fairly new tank no fish inside .I'm gonna try leaving the bait in trap for few days, does bait lose potency ? How often should I change it? Or is it better to keep empty trap inside for few days and then bait it?

Put the empty trap in for a bit to get them used it it. Then bait it. Then as shrimp are caught empty them into the sump until the camel shrimp is caught. Then put the desirable shrimp back in the display.

Do you have a QT set up or empty Ref., if you scare them into a rock, pull the rock and put it in the QT, when they come out the rock pull the rock and put back in the DT, then it should be easy to net them
