Camera recomendation help.

My budget is $500.Its mainly just for my reef.

Is there no camera anyone would recomend for a "nickle"?

Canon Powershot G-9. I bought one last January and love mine. Outfited mine for underwater (SCUBA) use.

you could get a cannon Rebel XT with the kit lense. Then save up for a nice lense after you get used to the camera and are better at taking pics.

That's XT + macro lens

Don't get me wrong, that'd be a great camera but it's not what he asked for.

but that is down the line cause of the saving up part after you buy the camera...just an opsion i guess...its what i did.

Do you guys think that shoping on E-Bay for a camera is a good idea?

probibly not the best idea. you never know what you are going to get and usually there is no warrenty.
