A friend is looking to upgrade his camera to an SLR to be able to take better Macros of his coral. Is anyone selling one? I remember a Nikon D3100 with a look down box being posted a couple weeks ago but can't find the thread now.

Yeah the thread your refering to was removed for being non reef related despite almost every member here associates pics with reefing ,not to mention we have a photography forum.
If you can figure that one out your a better man than me.

Knew it would sell in an instant. Frofan, you can try craigslist. Usually people are trying to sell their SLR's.

yea that was rediculous if you ask me. The only reason i started in photography was because of my reef tank. the two in my opinion go hand in hand. The mod that shut that down was on a power trip

Hardly.

We've never allowed selling of photography gear on here. We have to draw the line somewhere and cameras/photography gear are not explicitly reef related unlike tanks, lights, or skimmers . Trust me, there are several of us mods/admins that are photographers that would love to be able to sell the occasional bit of gear on here but its not allowed. Fortunately the internet is filled with sites to do so.

Frofan, I'm going to go ahead and close this. Have your friend check out some sites like Keh.com, B&H, or Adorama. All offer good deals on used equipment as well he can trade it old gear at the same time.

Your opinion has no bearing on our rules, we're not craigslist, and we do not aspire to be. If you have a problem with the people that run this site, or the way we run it, there are others out there. Choose carefully though, as those sites grow, most of them implement the same rules we use, many do so word for word.
