I bought this shrimp 4 days ago and he never comes out from behind this one rock. He stays there, hanging/walking around on the back 24/7. Is this normal? I had a peppermint shrimp and he was crawling around the whole tank the same night he was introduced. But after almost 3 years he died. So I was going to get a few more peppermints but my lfs was out and only had 1 shrimp left. This cammel shrimp. So i got him. I'm afraid he's not eating since he never leaves the back side of this rock, but I don't know. Thanks in return

I have never had a cammel shrimp but I think they prefer to live/hide in small caves. it probably sees the back of the rock as a shelter to hide in, or it may have molted and is waiting for its shell to reharden.
You could try feeding the tank some goodies to entice it to come out. like adding some frozen mysid or a small piece of silversides near it would probably make it come out.

i have had 1 in my tank for about 1 year now. when i first got him he hide about 50% of the time but now he is almost always about the tank. is there anything in the tank that is bothering him? how big is the tank, how much rock work do you have? they like to have alot of rock work to feed off of and hide in.
