Can a 5" peacock crack a 1/4" acrylic tank?

I'm trying to find a permanent home for my 5" peacock. I really don't think it is good idea to use those all-in-one nanoreef tank such as Aquapod or Nanocube since they are built by glass.

Just wondering if a some size (20"x16"x20"H) 1/4" thick acrylic tank could do the trick? Are they strong enough?

a peacock could not crack 1/4 inch acrylic but at 1/4 inch another different problem will occur. Your tank will bow. might wanna look at thicker material for that reason.

will a small nano, say, 24g acrylic w/ 1/4" bow ?
I'm tinkering a acrylic clone of aquapod or biocube for my peacock.
Btw, anyone know a good source for making acrylic cube online of local (I'm in SOCAL)?
My peacock will certainly look nice in those brand. Too bad they are all made of acrylic.

I missed the comment about building a 20" acrylic tank. I definately would ask on the DIY forum how thick the acrylic would need to be for a tank that tall. I wouldn't do it with less than 1/2". The taller the aquarium, the thicker the acrylic needs to be.

Correction: I meant "too bad those all-in-one good looking tanks are all made of glass"

If you are looking to make your own "all-in-one" acrylic nano-tank, I'd suggest taking a look at these sites (i think they are both owned by the same company):

www.nanotuners.com
or
www.nanocustoms.com

You can get pretty much any nanocube part imaginable from these guys, as well as a lot of nice upgrades. Hope this helps!
