can a maxima live under PC lighting

Disclaimer........ I'm not a clam expert. But maxima clams are some of the more light demanding clams and need strong lighting to keep healthy. I know you will find exceptions where some folks will say they were able to do it, but I think those are exceptions rather than the rule. Personally, I couldn't keep a deresa alive, and they're less light demanding.

BTW, there's a sticky near the top of this page that addresses your question, might want to give it a look see!

Wouldn't try it at all. You can attempt a Derasa and possibly a Squami if you put them hi up in the tank however wouldn't really reccommend this either......The light just isn't intense enough in my opinion.

I have kept a squamosa under 96w PC in my 10g for 1.5 years.
His growth has shocked me very fast.

But i will be moving it to my 29g w/ 150w HQI and 65w PC dual actinic.
