Can anybody vouch for or not recommend the use of BioPellets?

What skimmer are you running and what size is your tank? With any Carbon dosing I recommend a large skimmer. I havent ran bio pellets but Ive used Vodka and Vinegar for a while now. The only person I know that is running pellets is Travis, I believe he has a thread about it on that other forum.

How about using a refugium? Macroalgae (like chaeto) keeps my tanks at 0 nitrates and phosphates with water changes about 3 or 4 times a year, and no skimmers.

Give it a shot man. Just take it slow and keep an eye on your tank for changes. IMO vinegar is cheaper and does about the same thing though. What are you using for lighting?

currently using LEDs. I agree that vinegar would be cheaper, but I want something that I can just plug in and let it go instead of dosing everyday etc.

I hear you there. Do a search for Drummereefs 180 inwall build. He's running bio pellets and his thread goes into much detail. Im sure it will be able to answer any ?s you may have. Let us know how it goes.

Having a stable supply of mag, alk, and calcium and of course, TIME is the secret.

Lighting, flow, placement, and water quailty is important too. if you have all these, then the first sentence is the secret.

my thoughts on these, people have done very well up to now without them, seems like another gimic to sell reactors for brs
