Can anyone advise me before I go ahead and buy?

Hi Everyone!

Can anyone tell me if these are essential items for either for cycling or in the use with a reef tank? It is a AMERICAN MARINE PINPOINT PH MONITOR. I am not sure if they are essential or not or if they have problems associated with them.

Hmm they are not essential at the moment, but later down the track you might find it useful.

I would advise getting a portable electronic PH meter, and a refractometer to accurately determine SG(salt content of water).

They were the first 2 pieces of equipment i bought for testing, i would recomend that everyone have one.
