Can Anyone Help ID?? White Fuzzy Hair Like Stuff

Hi everyone,

I found this white fuzzy hair like stuff growing all over on the top of my rocks, especially higher up in the tank with better flow and lighting.

Anyone know what it is or if it is harmful?

I have a little bit of that in my tank, it seems to come when my mag drops.

Ive seen that on my rocks as well, but its on the underside. Would be interested to hear what it is, not that it bothers me. Just curious as well.

Looks like bacteria, should go away. Do you dose vodka or use any additives? That can cause/increase it.

No I normally only dose phyto and zooplankton and Seachem Fuel for coral food. I barely have to dose calc or alk since I do 20% water changes weekly using Red Sea Pro salt.

I would be surprised if my mag is low- but I admit I haven't tested this.

It's been growing steadily over the past 3 months since I started this tank

How is your phosphate/nitrate readings?

0 using API test kit

Phosphate tests don't mean much if you've got algae, since the available phosphate is in the algae, ergo unreadable.
