I read someplace that the only real difference is you get diatoms (brown algae) on your glass with silica sand and green algae on it with aragonite sand.

Is the silica stuff really oolitic or is it pointy?

I have read on here that the other stuff isnt true rounded particles, but is pointy and not as good

At this point whats another 200 bucks to get exactly what I want
