They look alot like flatworms to me but I am more used to the dark red or maroon type. Can anyone ID this type and let me know what they are feeding on? Most of them that I can see are on some cyano and gravel. I havent noticed them on any corals but I wasnt able to spend alot of time looking. I put a six line wrasse in this tank about a month ago because I saw some of the maroon type a wile back.

Flatworm "paininthebutttis" i would suck out as many as you can then some flatworm exit and big water change

Hey is that Bob the flatworm! I agree with above. Suck as many as you can out, then use Flatworm Exit, and then a large water change and run some carbon.

I thought I read somewhere that the clear one's that have a little color in the middle are harmless and they will usually die off in a while as they cannot live in our aquariums for an extended period of time. Here is a link I found, look at the picture at the top, if it is what yours look like then you will be fine, I would just leave them alone and they will go away, if you don't have to use any Flatworm Exit then I wouldn't

The spotted/striped pattern they exhibit is different than I have seen before, but in all other aspects, they appear as acoel flatworms. They can eat microalgae and some copepods....depending on the species. They proliferate so quickly in the presence of strong light and because they incorporate the microalgae as a symbionts in their gut, they will use the carbohydrates produced from photosynthesis for energy. This may further explain their location in your system. Most reports say they will go away after several months, but if not wanting to go that route, some flatworm exit should do the trick without harm to anything else. I am not a fan of adding a fish to a system just for the pest control aspect.....but many are. Good luck.

Just out of curosity, I noticed you too are in Virginia Beach...who do you do maintenance for? I have not heard of BioWerks...if that is the name of your company.

hey,
I had these in one aquarium for years. I tried the flatworm exit, yeah it worked, but I just don't think my corals liked it. my LFS told me to get this:

a melanarus wrasse. Marinedepotlive sells them so you can see what they look like. It is very pretty too by the way. I'd try this. It has done wonders

My bad, those aren't the clear ones, I didn't see them allover your gravel on the bottom picture, don't know how I missed it, those kind of look like the ones I have right now and I am not sure what kind they are because I haven't seen any on any of my corals
