It's most likely a member of the Faviidae Family. You can rule out the Mussidae Family because it lacks the spiked corallite appearence.

Many wholesalers and online vendors are selling that coral as Acanthastrea, which is a shame.

Heck if vendors think that is an acan I have a solid 8"x8" colony! Nice looking frag, I have a hole colon in my tank that color with a little bit brighter eyes. It is the center peice of my tank. It GLOWS under actinics and moon lighting.

THanks randy, can anyone be more specific?

Bcollins111900, how fast does yours grow? is it fleshy? Mines more solid than fleshy.

The coral it typicaly a slow grower. I have had mine for a little over a month and I have noticed a few more eyes growing on it around the edges. Most of the time mine is a little fluffy. If you touch it with something you see it deflate a little as if it is fleshy. I have mine in low flowabout 14" from a 250W 10 K Metal Halide and it fourishes IMO

The frag looks a little damaged in the pic. Try feeding it some meaty food like mysis....that will help speed it's recovery.

I just cannot resist :)

Bcollins you should really get that colon out of your tank LOL it will cause a nitrate spike

A whole colon must look like a sea snake peristalting its way around
