Can anything survive on a small frag dipped in CoralRX?

So we usually get new guys on frag plugs. Bug what if we unmounted, or broke off a small healthy looking piece. Then dipped it for the usual 10 minutes. Is it still not safe to put in the DT?

It's a good practice to brake off the plug or rock the coral sits on and then dipping. Aefw eggs will not die from a dip in coral rx.

Well aefw only stay on living acro tissue. Thay lay there eggs at the base of a colonie where the dead tissue is. I just hate taking any chance so I break off the base.

That's what I was thinking, break off the base, everything else goes through Rx. Put it in a fish trap at the top to observe for maybe a week, without water mixing in with the tank water for observation. Feels like it should be pretty safe.

...I am extremely lucky, and stupid... I usually just temp. Acclimate and place osandbe for a weekly break off plug and onto the rock it goes.

Not dipping or quarantining new corals is like playing Russian roulette. No one really wins, some just get to play longer than others. Lol not my quote but I love repeating it :) it's always best to play it safe. I've lost thousands of dollars in coral and many hours of sleep from one $40 coral that I just plopped in there thinking it'll be okay.
