Can chaeto spread from Fuge to DT?

I have a ton of chaeto growing in my refugium off my DT.
I have started to notice a few bits of rock in my DT sprouting what looks exactly like strands of chaeto.
Is this chaeto spreading or is it some other type of algae I just have not identified correctly?
It's green curly, and wiry, with relatively thick and stiff inviduual strands.

I thought chaeto doesn't attach to anything. But I might be wrong.

you could be right - it is possible this is some sort of other algae

oh I forgot I have some gracilaria in my fuge too....could it be that?

I think it must be Green Wirey Algae, which is supposed to be rare. Go figure, that's what I got instead of normal algae. *facepalm*

I had some in my fuge that got sucked into my return. Couple months later I had it growing in all the hard to reach places in my live rock.
