Corals also morph in hobbyists tanks. In one tank it could look one way, then in another tank with different lighting/filtration, it could look completely different. I've heard of green chalices turning red for no apparent reason. Also, sometimes some corals (i.e. acans) can switch zooxanthella with each other, causing color changes in one or both pieces. Basically, if you're going to get a coral online, make sure you KNOW it will look at least something like that in your tank. Some websites photoshop their actinic shots to make them look unreal, and most of the time, it is.
