hi all i was wondering if my hammer coral could sting my crocea i have them very close to one another.also i have a maxima that keeps diving off of my rock to the sandbed.does this mean it does not like where i want him to be and likes the sand better.
I think that it depends on coral. I have a teardrop nestled in some rics and zoos and the tissue touches constantly. I have another maxima near some SPS and I have to prune them back b/c the maxima won't extend when the mantle touches the branches.
It does not appear that they are stung, they are just seem irritated and don't extend.
I don't think that clams like anenomes at all. I would never let an anenome near a clam.
I agree with JDA. I have had some things that just iritate the clams mantle others do not bother it at all. The times that I have seen the mantal stung it actually retracted rapidly in that one spot and stayed retracted for a half day or so with nothing touching it there again.
