Can croceas live through 2 day shipping?

Where are you shipping the clam from where to where?

You run your chances of the clam getting very stressed out during shipping.

clams r in the dark for more than 2 days when shipped from overseas

I don't think we were talking about the lack of light rather the increase in ammonia in the bag stressing the clam.

same thing

Sorry, not getting it.

How is lack of light the same thing as increased levels of ammonia?

i meant.. the clams would go through an ammonia spike during shipping from oversea as well..

There is a good chance the clam will be aright. One time I had two hundred maximas shipped from the Marshall Islands---four days later (in winter time) I finally recieved them. Only lost six clams!

Personaly i wouldn't have done two day shipping b/c of the stress. it just sounds like it was more of a human error than anything else. i hope the clam does alright but given from what i understand from other post the clam should do alright as long is it isn't in the heat for those 2 days.

spsdude, why on earth did you feel the need to order 200 clams? as my may well see that i'm only a few min. down interstate from you in Charleston. I think it nice to see other local people.

Surfzone,
Afew years back I was the main importer for the clam farm in the Texas area. I am now in Summerville. Yes lets get together sometime.

Think this will answer your question. This was posted a few thread back.

Well, I would like to add that I just received my order from clamsdirect as well. FedEx screwed up the shipping - it shipped out on Monday for a Tuesday delivery, but was lost. Barry was on top of things and getting ready to refund my whole order. Everything arrived well.
