Can hawkfish damage SPS by perching on them?

I have SPS frags that are bleaching and my hawkfish perches on them. I can't tell if he is causing problems.

Yep, my one acro has a few small patches of exposed skeleton from where my Longnose hawk likes to perch

This is also common for clown gobies to perch on an object and the constant touching keeps the polyps from extending and ultimately feeding. I would see if u can interest him/her in another area of the tank or remove the fish .

Well my polyps stopped extending weeks ago. I must have excessive excess nutrients. Now the brown zooxanthellae is bleaching/dying. Hard to say exactly what is going on.

Absolutely they can. I had a Flame Hawk that perched on the same monti all the time. It ended up killing the tissue on his "landing pad"

Well I've just recently came down with this SPS bug and only have 2 frags so far. I also like this fish a lot because he adds red to the tank. I have to replace him with a red fish besides a flame angel (already have an angel).

Thoughts?
