Can I add a dwarf angelfish?

I've upgraded my tank to a 45G cube. Inhabitants are two maroon clownfish and a bicolour blenny from my original tank. I'd love to add an angelfish. Is there any dwarf species that can stand up to my maroons? I was a little worried about my blenny (accidentally introduced with some chaeto) but he seems to be thriving... How many fish can I keep in this tank? It has lots of rock and live sand and wonderful circulation from my new gyre.

maybe one of the smaller dwarfs, but be aware that two maroons will rule that tank when they mature.

Ya, pretty much you're done with fish in that size tank. If you want to add other fish I'd suggest that you start thinking about an upgrade. The female maroon will control at least 50 gals of your 45 gal cube.

That's not a typo!

You can try Centropyge Argi. Cute, small and feisty dwarf angel. You can probably get away with adding a Fridmani dottyback in there too for a splash of color.

Thank you for all of your input. So far the clowns have stuck to the cave in the middle of the rock structure. At what age or size would they be considered mature? The female is maybe an inch and a half now and the male is half her size. I can't have a huge tank in the condo but am already setting up a 30G so if it doesn't work out I can re-home the angel. Thanks for your suggestions!

Would it be best to choose an aggressive dwarf so it can stand up to the maroon? I was looking at the Centropyge acanthops...

I've got an Centropyge argi and he's a total butthead :D Very similar.

I had a pair of maroons in my tank and he stayed away from the female, she was 3x his size. I had to get rid of my maroons because she would "re-decorate" my tank by moving frags and even rocks to her liking. She even did a sand evacuation of major proportions. :hammer: She either had to go or I was going to kill her. Luckily I was easily able to catch the pair and put them in my sump. Then Shifty here on RC traded me a pair of Mocha Clowns for them.

That would be the very same reason I set up the cube. I've watched my maroon female push a decent sized rock from one tank to another and I threatened to not put any sand in this new tank because she's always rearranging the dunes. They are butt heads but they are so beautiful... I'm hoping the blennie can stay. I figured I can have the 30G for some corals and stuff. I guess I'm just being optimistic because they seem to be ignoring the blennie and would like to see some movement in the tank since they hang out in the cave and the blennie sits on his rock...
