I know your supposed to add to an established tank . My tank now is about 8 months . I'm ordering new tank but won't be done until Jan . My tank now is a 40 ... New tank will be 100-110 . If I use the rock and water from tank that I have now , could I add new sand and new water and still be able to add the anemone ?

I want it now , then want to transfer it , but will it be okay if I did that since the majority of rock and water will be new ?

Honestly, January isn't all that far away, I personally would wait -- why stress out the anemone if you don't have to.

I was thinking I should wait too . So in january , I can go ahead and add one , considering most of my rock and water will be new ?

Would do it right in January.

Let's assume you transfer the rock/sand (( the water itself doesn't really matter, since the bacteria is on/in the rock/sand )), over and end up adding 100lbs of new rock. I would still wait 3 months or so. An anemone should outlive us, waiting a bit longer isn't that bad in the grand scheme.
