Adding an anemone?
I recently acquired a mated pair of clowns that were turned into my LFS.
They are two years old and I have no Idea of their history other than the original owner moved out of state. They seem happy and healthy. I had originally purchased two very small ones so I could experience the whole pairing sexing thing…. But my 6 line wrasse went after them mercilessly and I had to bring them back or I don’t feel they would have made it..
The six line leaves these two alone for the most part since even the male is about 50% bigger than the wrasse.
My tank is about 6 weeks old now and as it establishes I wanted to get an anemone for them
The female is about 3.5†and the male about 2.5â€Â
I was told because I have coral (green closed brain coral, frogspawn coral, Green and yellow zoo, Leather toadstool ) no anemone? Is this correct? I have a 29 gal bio cube with a lot of live rock
1) Can I put an anemone in the tank? and if so
2) Which type is the best for my Ocellaris Clownfish
3) Does it need to be placed on a flat surface because the only large open space is where the brain coral resides
4) I have a spinning outlet for my water return for better circulation is that ok if at each rotation the flow “hits “ the anemone?
5) Can I place it high in the tank on a ledge so it is closer to the lights (35w blue actinic, 10000k white lights 35w
6) how long do I wait to add the anemone?
7) If I cannot add one will the clownfish do ok?
