I really like my finespot fairy wrasse and I'd like to add a few more fairy wrasse. I have a 125g with mainly butterflies the finespot and a couple McCoskers. I'd like to atleast get a flame wrasse, if not a couple more different fairies. Am I going to run into major problems with the finespot.

I can't speak from personal experience with the finespot, but wrasse wise you can add more.

How many butterflies and how big are they?

Punctatus can be ornery towards other fairy wrasses. The degree of ornery behavior somewhat depends on what you want to mix with him. Can you tell us?

I'm really open to anything, beside the high dollar wrasses. I added a McCosker pair a while ago and he didn't he look at them barely. I wouldn't mind a few more flashers, but I can't find any that are a different coloration than McCoskers. What would you guys suggest for some fairies.

the flashers won't be noticed by your C. punctatus. A trio of flame wrasses would be nice. Your punctatus might notice a rhomboid or lineatus but those are nice.

What would you recommend for some of the cheaper wrasse. Putting a cap limit around 80$. I kind of likw C. rubrimarginatus and C. lubbocki. I'm sure there's others I like I just don't know of them.

There are lot's of cheaper fairy wrasses like C. Adornatus, C. lyukyuensis, C. Exquisitus, C Rubriventralis, and on and on...

I had over 12 in my 100gal.

2 lineatus, Mystery, solientsis?, carpenters, flashers, 3 leopards, clown and other full red type wrasses.

delsol650, that mix sounds good. However a punctatus and lineatus would not necessarily get a long for example and there are really no other fairy wrasses in the mix except the solorensis. Don't get me wrong, fairy wrasses normally mix well but there are some, e.g. Scottorum and Punctatus that are a bit on the meanish side.

I'm considering everything before I put anything in my tank. I'm thinking a lubbocks might be a good test fish. Are there any flashers that have a different coloration than McCoskers. It seems like all flashers have the same color pattern.

The flashers are similar but there are a couple of exceptions such as the blue flasher wrasse and the line spot (lineopunctatus). There are also some others that are a bit more rare such as attentuatus and angulatus that you are unlikely to find for sale. Lubbocks is good but it will lose a bit of coloration without a female.

Mystery wrasse and radiant wrasse

Mystery wrasse and radiant wrasse

Oops. Man I really need to stop doing that. Mods please delete

The radiant will most likely be picked on by the mystery wrasse, atleast initially. My radiant wrasse was the most docile fish in the tank; no one noticed him, and he didn't notice anyone else either.

To the OP, a really cool flasher wrasse is paracheilinus octotaenia (atleast to me).
