i have a 55 gallon mixed reef tank with these fish: clarki clown, six line wrasse, and diamond goby, ive been wanting a tang for a while im looking at a blue caribbean tang but i like any tang other than the yellow tang, any advise is appreciated.

thanks,
josh

I think people get very opinionated about tangs but I think a single tang in a 55 gallon tank would work as long as it isnt loaded with a ton of live rock.

I wouldn't put a tang in a 55 (I don't think you should go to jail for doing it either ;) ) but if you just have to get one the Tomini is the best choice.

ive been looking at tomini tangs online they all seem to have diffrent stripes, is this the locaton they are from or is it just the the fishes individuality

I don't think you'll have good luck with the blenny and goby together. They're very similar. Blennies get pugnacious at times. Manual removal of the algae and better filtration/phosphate removal/skimming/water changes are the best way to get rid of algae. If you want a cool fish for the sake of having one, go for a Lamarck's angel like suggested above. They are typically very safe with corals and neat.

My convict tang has been in my 55 for almost four years and its fine just dont over do it with rock also a yellow eye tang/kole tang would work but keep in mind bigger is always better with any fish
