I was wondering if anyone knows how hardy are scribbled angels in comparison to a majestic or a regal? So far I have had three majestic angels 2 of which passed away at the 7 week mark. But before they did both had come down with what I believe to be oodinium. None of my other fish have it and both angels passed through quarantine then bam, splotches and about three days later, dead. I don't know if somehow I got bad luck or if that disease can remain dormant that long but I was hoping to get some opinions on what angel I should go with? I plan on having coral, ( I know angels and reefs, not a good idea usually!) but I was wondering if you guys think I might have had bad luck or should I switch it up and try a scribbled? Also does anyone know their behavior with a reef environment? Which corals it will leave alone and or if I feed it several times a day in moderate amounts will it leave them alone? As always thank you for your advice!

I don't know how a Scribbled would be in a reef, but I've had one for 2 years in a 140 gallon FOWLR and is extremely hardy and eats everything that is offered. I also have a smaller Majestic that I've had for over three years but is much shyer.

Scribble are hardier fish than regal
I had a lot of regal in the past only juveniles do well.
My first scribble died from bad clams
Second one my 24" carpet anemone ate it
Now on my 3 try so far so good.
Large Angels needs to be copper and prazipro qt because they are susceptible to velvet IME

They act like other large angel in reef they will leave SPS alone.

I wouldn't describe any of the 3 angels you mentioned as hardy.

Regarding scribbled, I've been told that chaetodontoplus angels have very small scales, and are particularly susceptible to parasites like ich. This definitely was the case with my meredithi angels. I've never kept a scribbled, but from what I've read on here, they aren't one of those bulletproof angels like a Koran or Queen....
