can I keep a clam with this light?

I really want to keep a clam (either maxima or crocea) in my 55 gallon tank, so I'm going to upgrade from the PC lights that I have now to a more powerful setup. Since MH lights are out of my price range, could this 4-bulb T5 setup work?.....my tank is 20inches deep, and the clams would sit on the sand. Also, if the setup would work, can you recommend a good bulb combination? Thanks for any help,

Should work IF T5s of that wattage(54) will penetrate to a depth of 15"-20"

I think they should work fine. I've succesfully kept clams under 240 watts of PC light in a 55 in the past.
