can i keep all these wrasses in the same tank?

howdy-
had a compatability question:

i like wrasses and i wanted to run this by the experts to see if it was possible. the following is my list of fish i plan to add to my 315 reef that's just about ready for inhabitants:

5 bar mystery wrasse
6-line wrasse
lineatus wrasse
rhomboid wrasse
leopard wrasse
blue flasher wrasse
possum wrasse
i also just found this one and it looks great... need an id, but i'm guessing it's reef safe:

i also want to get:
6-7 sunburst anthias
one male square anthias
onyx perc(s)
interruptus angel(s)
crosshatch trigger
blue hippo tang
chevron tang
yellow tang
vlamingi tang
naso tang
mandarin dragonet
yellow watchman goby
geometric pygmy hawk
royal gramma
majestic angel

no, this is not a joke and this is actually my ideal roster. i understand that this is 28-29 fish in a lot and 315 is not all that much real estate when it comes down to it. i am totally willing to simplify my list because i will not buy and risk the lives of these fish if the powers of be say it is unsafe. please let me know how half-baked my thoughts on stocking are. my equipment is in the 'overkill' range and i know i can handle a considerable bioload. more than anything, i just want to know what my compatability issues are as of now. which ones should i introduce first? which of these fish tend to be the most aggressive to each other? tiy
 
With a tank that big you should be fine w/ all of those wrasses, the rest of your list now that's another story!!! The wrasse in the pic is a flame wrasse from Hawaii.
 
no. the problem is the 5 bar and the 6 line. Those fish are relatively....antisocial. The rest of the wrasses are no problems together. I have a fairly good collection of "nice" wrasses--cleaners, fairies and flashers.

the sunburst anthii IME don't really hang out together and hide a lot. get bartlett's instead.
 
I've heard of a LOT of issues with Rhomboids and Lineatus killing each other, but a 315 is a good amount of space, so I dont know.
 
I've got a rhomboid pair and 2 lineatus in my tank no probs. The 315 I think is plenty of space to avoid male/male fairy wrasse issues. It's the generally antisocial fish like 5 bars and 6 lines that would concern me. Mystery's are really cool looking, but they are not for tanks with skittish fish like micro is planning. 6 lines I basically equate with the devil.
 
I know the 6 lines & mystery's are bullies but w/ a tank that big I would think it would be O.K..
 
I had a heated discussion w/ a few people on my local forum that didn't beleive me about mystery's being aggressive. I guess they will find out the hard way.
 
Mystery's kill me. I love them. Curious and just oh so cool looking, but with my current inhabitants, it just ain't gonna fly. I mean if it chased my rhomboid pair and cause a carpet surf....
 
hahahahaha. really? i had no idea about the mystery wrasse. that one has got to me my favorite fish... *sigh*
ok, so if i eliminate the 6-line from the mix... still no? what if i added the mystery wrasse last? those babies are sooooo gorgeous, that it's hard to walk away from.

also, i recently found out that a red coris wrasse can in fact be reef safe. would i have any interaction problems with those and the others on my list?
 
and finally, thanks for all the advice. i love opening a new forum and seeing it bear so much fruit by the next day. :)

so does anyone suggest an order that i introduce these fish? should i put all the skittish fish in together or is there a 'smart' way to go about it? i'd hate to see thousands of dollars worth of fish develop ich because of my uninformed haste. please advise
 
Well the first issue is quarantine. That's the only real way to be sure. In terms of the wrasses I still say skip the mystery. Even if it doesn't like "kill" the fairies they will still get chased by the mystery and these fish ARE jumpers.

Who told you that?

Theyre natural invert eaters, and a semi-adult one will be big enough to eat those fairy wrasses.
 
i will undoubtedly quaratine, but i only have like 6 useable tanks :)
chuck, do you mind pm'ing me with a contact number so that perhaps i can discuss the best way to go about the process for a few minutes? i really want to pull out all the stops to ensure health and survival.
and yeah, i suppose i will skip out on the mystery wrasse. thanks so much. i'm sure you know what you're talking about, especially w/ your 12k posts ;)
 
I have seen this one great looking tank at Sea World that was a huge reef tank. It had all types of corals in it and was at least 700 gallons. It had all types of wrasses so I imagine its possible. Just make sure the aren't underfed to avoid aggression towards each other.
