Can I keep clams?

Hi,
I have a small six gallon tank that I plumbed off of my main tank for a spearer mantis shrimp. The tank has three 32 watt PCs over it. I know that most people say that you need halides but I am making it into a very high light SPS tank and don't have room for halides. So do you think I have too much light? Or should a clam be fine in my tank. I feed my tanks Reeds coral and clam diet and everything is doing very well. So please tell me what you think of my plan. Also what kind of clam do you think will do best in my tank?
Thanks

Too much light? Nope....too little light...sorry. I wouldn't put a maxima or a crocea under there for light reasons, and while the light would be enough for a squamoas or derasa, they would outgrow the tank in a heartbeat. If your tank is plumbed into a larger it would be stable.

I have seen with my own eyes clams wither and die under a 96 watt PC powerquad in a 10 gallon tank and an eclipse 6 gallon tank. I just wouldn't do it.

If you are intent on getting a clam, the only one I would consider would be a H. Hippopus.

If you want a little maxima, sell the PCs and get a 70w Halide bulb. Your SPS corals will be MUCH happier and substantially more colorful too.

with that lighting, you might be albe to keep lower light clams, but the problem with that is any of those clams would be wayy to huge for a 6 gallon.
