Can I place an acro on a monticap?

Say no to clove polyps
I have a purple tip acro that I can't find any room for. The only well lit flat place is in the center of a monticap. I don't care if it stings the cap in the middle but I don't want it to kill the whole thing. Will the monti keep growing out around it or will the acro kill the whole thing. Thanks.

it depends on which coral is stronger. most likely the montipora will win as it grows faster then the acropora. but if there is no space for it, you can place it on top of the montipora if you put a piece of live rock on top and glue the acro on top of the rock. im doing this now with branching rock. instead of an acro, i place digitatas on top glued to the rock which sits on top of my red monti cap. hope this helps.

I recently glued two frags on my orange cap after seeign how the cap just grows around other corals... I assume that it's not agressive. We'll see how it plays out. Anyone got any pics?
