Hey guys I have the tank in my sig, and was wondering what fish I need to take out so I can put peppermint shrimp in. I have the following fish.

1.Radiata lion fish I already know will eat them
2.Multi colored file fish I have no clue
3.Yellow Tang
4.Clown Tang

I have another tank to put the lion fish in, but I was wondering if there is another guy I need to take out just in case. I have a aptasia problem that isn't going away so these critters are much needed in my tank!

Filefishes are known to predate on crustaceans so the file would probably need to come out as well. Peppermint shrimp work well as long as you don't get lazy ones. You can also blast the anemones with boiling water or concentrated kalkwasser, both are cheap and easy.

I tried getting rid of them a couple of times already, but when I moved it must have made them leech all over my rock because it keeps coming back.... I'm so sick of it taking over my tank!

3 years ago, I had thousands (didn't actually count them) of aptasia, tried joes juice, kalk, remove rock/boiling water, and hand scrubbing, CBB, etc...back within a week or 2, decided to bite the bullet and ordered 24 pep shrimp(lot prices) from reeftopia put them in my 120g tank, maybe 6 weeks later, ALL GONE, have NOT returned since. Would guess that there are still 4 or 5 shrimp hiding under the rocks, that I see every now and then!

Yeah thats why I wanted to get them. I bought some before hoping that they would hide in the rocks from the lion fish. They didn't even last a day tho.... the problem is I never seen who actually ate them, and I dont want to waste money on them if the file fish is going to eat them as well. I could put both of them in the other tank, but its going to be very hard to catch the file without breaking down my rock work.
