Can I put two different pairs in the same tank?

I'm thinking of combining a 125 and 120 in an upcoming move. The 125 has a maroon pair (had the female for 11 years and she runs the tank) and the 120 has a cinnamon pair. The maroons have several GBTA's they move back and forth between on one side of the 125, but never go further than about 2 feet from the anemones. The cinnamons have a M. crispa that they rarely leave and never go further than about a foot from the anemone. If I go with an 8 foot tank, what is the likelihood that they'd not kill each other (keeping the anemones on opposite ends of the tank)? What about a 6' tank that was say, 36" wide?

It seems like 8 feet should be enough to keep them seperate. To be honest though I've seen some scary maroons, Im not so sure I would trust them to share space in any tank.

Maybe someone who has tried this will chime in.

Shakes is a bully, but she's never really attacked anyone, except a few blue damsels in the very early days. I added the male almost a year ago and she never really beat it up. She shot for it a few times, but then left it alone... It took two weeks for it to wander into the anemones, though. She's pretty big, but not the biggest I've seen (~4", maybe).

It is possible to have multiple pairs in a large tank such as yours, however I would be leary to try it with Premnas. They just don't live near others in the wild. It is very feasible with Amphiprion, especially if they are the same species.

If you decide to give it a shot just pay close attention and let us know how it turns out.

Have seen a trio of premans (gold band) and also a trio of ocellaris and a pair of nigrippes mixed in the same 10x2x2 tank although the nigrippes contracted disease from some new fish and they were old and had to be removed. The premnas lurk near the bottom right had conrner and the ocellaris near the top left. Would be around 10+ bubbletips in this tank and a decent amount rock and around 50 other fish. I have heard of people mixing ocellaris with skunks a few times.

I have a pair of gold bar maroons and a trio of percs in an 8' tank without any battles. Initially, the maroons chased the percs away from their RBTA. But since then, no probs, good luck.

I had a large GSM and a small True Perc that actually paired up. Anything is possible the only worry I would have is that both pairs are around the same on a scale of aggressivness. Give it a shot if need be you can always remove on of the pairs.

I have a pair of Black Saddle's, a Pair of Picasso Percs and and pair of true percs in an 8' tank and they all get along fine.

I've decided to chicken out... I've got a happy breeding pair of cinnamons and I've had my female maroon longer than I've known my wife, so I don't want to stress them... Thanks for all of the replies.
