Can I remove heater from water during water change?

I am thinking about cleaning out the sump & doing a water change at the same time. If I completely remove all the water from the sump, do I need to be concerned about the titanium heater in there? Would it be OK out of water for a couple of minutes?

I vacuum out my 40 sump and refill for water changes. I turn off my heaters, return and skimmer during the change. Better off NOT leaving heaters out of the water IMO

So just turn it off & even if it goes above the water level, I'd be OK? It would not have to cool off like a glass heater?

Turn it off before you start to lower the water level and it will be fine.
