Can I save part of dying gorgonian?

I have a Purple Plume Gorgonian that's quickly melting from RTN.
Would I be able to frag off the good branches? Unfortunately it started melting due to the damn heat wave. Here is a picture:

unfortuanly I can't view your pic of the coral due to the computers I'm using at the moment *NAVY* but I will say that I have saved a gorgonia from RTN by clipping the tips, just as you would with any sps that is starting to bleach at the tips or RTN. It's either take action and attempt to save or sit back and watch it wither away on it's own.
gorgonias are hard to keep though so I wish you luck. keep posted.

You can just chop off the dying parts, it will encrust back over if it makes it. I did this for a gorg that had been kept sticking out of the water so several tips were dead and white. I just used scissors.

I'll do that when I get home. At least I'll get to have multiple frags if they make it.:D
